Ben Quilty at GOMA, Brisbane

You may have heard me talk before about our school holiday tradition of meeting up with our friends and heading into GOMA at South Bank, Brisbane. It’s the absolute highlight of my school holidays. The kids love catching the public transport, running through the Museum walkway, down the stairs, and up to the impressive doors of the wonderful GOMA building. Once inside they dash to the kids’ gallery and Laura and I muse on whether we can get a decent look at the main exhibitions with the kids there or if we need to come back alone to really take in the art. Funnily enough, we usually opt for the later!

The light and architecture of GOMA is so good.  Just walking through the space gives me a ridiculous amount of joy. I could people watch there all day.

What public art space do you love to visit?
